Often you find a place so cool that you can’t understand why there isn’t more fuss about it. That is how we felt when we camped at Mistletoe State Park in Georgia. Not only does it give you all the adventure you might be looking for. But it adds ten times more if you like camping next to a lake that you can put your Kayak into.
During the summer, Campers can cool off at the sandy beach or on miles of shaded nature trails. We were able to camp 30 yards from the lake and spend the evenings watching sunset.
Mistletoe State Park has 10 fully equipped cottages on the lake, five of which are log cabins. The campground is situated on a peninsula, offering spectacular views of both sunset and sunrise over the open water.
We have fond memories of Mistletoe State Park because it was our first night ever with our new Air Conditioner. Our Dometic Brisk II Rooftop Air Conditioner. It was glorious!!!
The Visitors Center also rent’s Kayak’s if you don’t have one of your own. And don’t worry about what size your RV is, they have room for all sizes. If you don’t have an RV, no worries, they have backcountry Tent sites also. Just bring your Kayak. We always carry our inflatable Intex Challenger Kayak
Mistletoe State Park has a ton of ammenities including Showers, Ice, Firewood, and a cool place to hang out with WiFi at the Visitors Center.
If you are RVing there, they have 30, and 50 amp service, water, and a dump station. If you are just tent camping, you have access to a beautiful lake to see sunrise or sunset. Also, some great hiking trails.
